It is a pleasure to introduce myself and express my delight at becoming the first principal at Taylor’s Crossing Public Charter School. Education of our young people is not only my profession; it is also my avocation and passion. It has been my privilege to teach at all levels of public education, from self-contained elementary classroom to advanced math classes in the high school. My experience as an educator does not end in the classroom, rather this is where it began. My deep concern for young people and their issues led me into counseling. It was in this capacity that opportunities arose for me to work with students from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. My most recent experience lies in the administrative realm. As Principal of Wallace Junior/Senior High School and as the only administrator in the building, it has been my responsibility to work in all areas of administration and supervise up to thirty-five staff members and close to three hundred students.

It is my desire to live and work in a community that views itself as an extension of the school, supports the needs of its students and staff, and strives to reach excellence in all areas. I bring my husband, Lionel, and my cocker spaniel, Brownie to what I believe is the right place to find all of these things and more. I am excited to meet the staff, students, and parents and to begin an outstanding year of learning. I have always believed that learning should be fun, and it will be at Taylor’s Crossing. My husband and I love the out-of-doors, fishing, and boating. We look forward, also, to spending time in our new home, cooking, reading and working in our yard.
