My name is Myrna Guthrie I am the second grade teacher at Taylor’s Crossing Public Charter School this year. I just want you to know how excited I am to be a part of this wonderful school and faculty. I love teaching and I truly love each child. In my classroom I have always looked forward to those “aha” moments when you see in the children’s eyes and on their faces that they understand what is being taught and they want to learn more. I had one of those "aha" moments when I was introduced to the Harbor Method way of teaching. This has fueled my excitement and renewed my love for teaching.

I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. Since that time I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, 1st, 3rd and 4th grades. My most recent position was teaching 1st grade at Iona Elementary.

I live in Iona with my husband Trent and our five children. We have three boys, Brandon, Trevor and Dalan and twin girls, Brianne and Nichole. Those five kids, and their activities, are what I do in my “spare” time and I wouldn't’t have it any other way. I love being a mother.

I am looking forward to a great year! I love these children! I want to help them develop a love for learning and to feel success. I want them to feel that they are important, and that they are unique and special. Thank you Taylor’s Crossing for giving me such a wonderful opportunity.
