Parent Guardian Student Letter

Posted Date: 08/15/2022

To the Parents, Guardians and Students of Taylor’s Crossing,

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. There is much to be grateful for, even in these uncertain times. I am hopeful that you were able to spend time with the ones you love, travel to places you have dreamed of and relaxed a bit to regenerate for a new school year.

With our Eagle Extravaganza Registration night behind us and roughly one week left before school starts, I would like to take this time to highlight a few things before we begin. It will benefit all parties to make sure that you are all aware of some of the changes, updates and new things that are being done at Taylor’s Crossing this year. Please be sure to look through the following list of items to ensure that you are informed about the goings on here at the school. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to the administrative team so we can try our best to answer those concerns.

1) Our COVID plan is posted to the website and has been updated by the Board at the last Board Meeting on Aug. 11, 2022. Please direct any questions or suggestions directly to me via email.

2) Once again, we will have a new website that we are trying to make more user friendly. We have not updated the new website yet, but when we do, please make comments or suggestions directly to me. We will also have a new app for the phone providing updated information from our website and we will send all that info out when it is complete for everyone to download.

3) Our Student/Parent Handbook has been updated. It is extremely important that parents are aware of the changes that have been made. I know some of you signed off that the handbook had been read at registration night, but I would like to stress that you read specifically the sections on attendance, discipline and academics. We will be holding our students and families to a higher standard for their attendance and tardiness and failure to comply will result in disciplinary action. These are changes from previous years; our teachers and staff are wanting to endorse the rigor and high standards we had prior to COVID. Please read the handbook to familiarize yourself with these procedures again, if you have not already done so.

4) In light of some tragic events that happened throughout our country. at schools last year, we are inviting you to attend a Special Board Meeting on September 7, 2022 at 6:00 pm in the Taylor’s Crossing gymnasium to discuss some of the protocols and procedures that we are implementing for the safety of our students, staff and their families. The Board will be present, as well as administration, to answer questions in relation to these procedures.

We look forward to a great year and are excited about all the wonderful opportunities for change that are ahead of us. GO EAGLES!!!!

Thank you for your continued support,

Seth H. Boyle
