Start of School

Posted Date: 08/31/2022

To the Parents and Guardians of Taylor’s Crossing Public Charter School,

A week has come and gone and it has been a great start to the year, which is impressive considering the many huge changes we have undertaken during summer. I have been able to get into each of the classrooms to welcome the students back and chat a bit about their summer break. It is so nice to have students back. We love your children!!!

As we start up the year, there are a number of items that were not quite completely as well organized as I would have liked and I apologize for that. Our gutters have taken a bit longer, but should finally help avoid dangerous situations on our sidewalks in the winter. We still have a bit to clean up, but thankful it’s mostly completed.

Our new website is up, but needs some work. I have recognized that some of the links are not working and we need to update other information. My hope is that the site is at least a bit more user friendly and that you are able to find things easier. Feel free to reach out to me if you have suggestions for improvement.

We are very happy with our new transportation company and we ask for your patience as we continue to work through some hiccups at the start of the year. They have done a great job to make signs that designate stops and they have taken the time to run the routes prior to school starting. We have had some issues, but continue to beg for your patience as we work through some kinks. The owner has been riding the buses to see how to improve and we are grateful for his dedication and desire to improve things. It is not perfect, but we are excited that there is open communication about how to improve. We hope that as the school year moves on, times of pick up and drop off will all improve. Our new company has been very receptive to any changes and modifications we suggest. We are going to be discussing bus behaviors with our students over the next few days as we want all of our students to be respectful and act in a dignified manner whether it be at school or on the buses.

When all is said and done, the most important thing to remember is that the students are all receiving a quality education from the best teachers in the area. We are so excited for a new school year, with new opportunity for growth and learning. I have no doubt that if our students listen to all the adults on campus and then do what they are told, they will have a successful year. I have told the students to be responsible and be nice, do the work and everything else will take care of itself. We expect a lot from our students, but we know they are capable of achieving great things when they put their minds to it.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Again, we continue to ask for your patience as we implement a lot of new things. We will try to communicate all the changes as best we can to keep everyone informed.

Thank you for your time,

Seth H. Boyle
