To the Parents, Guardians and Students of Taylor’s Crossing,
The fun and exciting part about education is that it is always changing and always evolving. With that in mind, there have been a handful of changes that are happening here at Taylor’s Crossing. I have always appreciated people’s opportunity to improve their situation and make decisions that are best for them and their families and the situation we currently find ourselves in now, is no different. Although we will miss those that are taking advantage of other opportunities, we wish them well in their future endeavors.
This past month, we had two board members step aside. We are so appreciative and grateful for their dedication and service. Ray Fox served on the board the past two years and Matt Rice served on the board for close to 6 years. We want to extend our appreciation for their service, knowledge and leadership that they have provided our school. As a result, we currently have two board positions that are open and would ask that those parents that are interested in being more involved in the affairs of the school, fill out an application on the school website.
Our High School English teacher, Sherry Newell has announced her retirement at the end of this school year. We are grateful for her service as Honor Society Advisor, Poetry Out Loud leader and the various other jobs she has done on campus. We wish her well as she rides off into the sunset of retirement. We will be posting the job of High School English Teacher later this spring.
Our computer teacher, Mary Meyer, will be leaving to take another job effective the end of this month. Her contribution to the school has been immeasurable. She has been our testing coordinator, our IT person, the person in charge of yearbooks and so much more. We wish her well and will miss her dearly. We have already filled her position with a long-term substitute that is capable of continuing where Mary left off. Luckily, Mary has agreed to assist that substitute throughout the spring semester and we will be looking to fill that position for next year, later on in the spring.
On top of that, we have a part-time kitchen staff member position that needs to be filled due to our current staff member leaving on a full-time mission for her church. The hours for this position are around 10:00 – 1:30. We have this position posted on our school website under employment opportunities. Feel free to submit an application and reach out to me directly if you are interested in potentially working in our cafeteria part-time.
We are thankful for the service that all of these people have given over the course of their time at Taylor’s Crossing and wish them well in the future.
Thank you,
Seth H. Boyle
